My topper had no odor right out of the box and restored to size almost immediately.I did open it and let it set for a day before putting it on the bed although don't think I would have had to.I added it to a cheap mattress in an RV and the difference is amazing!The topper is firm but not too firm and is true memory foam. It contours to the body when sleeping and fit perfectly on a queen size mattress.It also came with a thin mattress cover that I put on just to help keep it clean.Great price for a great product and the shipping was faster than I expected.I would highly recommend this product.

5.3 Cloud9 King 4 Inch 100% Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper Review

I ordered this 4 inch mattress topper on 2/6 and it was delivered to my house on 2/12/10.I was amazed at how fast it arrived.It was a king size and actually a full 4 inches deep.Unlike the ones you buy at Costco that say they are 3 inches and they only expand to 2 inches and the density isn't as good.Word to the wise, pay the extra money for this Cloud9 and you'll be happy.It pays to get the higher density and 4 inches.The Costco one only lasted 3 years and seemed to shrink in length after 2 years.The Cloud9 actually covers the whole mattress. No shortage in size.I had my boyfriend carry the 47# box up the stairs and we opened the box on top of the mattress.Unfolded the foam topper and cut off the plastic wrap.Made it easier to handle this way.No heavy lifting of the foam mattress onto the bed.It unfolded right away and opened to a full 4 inches deep.We are now letting it air out because of the smell.I expected it though.I'm going to use the Fabreze like the previous reviewer suggested before I sleep on it tonight.
I mostly like the 4 inch foam mattress topper to make my old mattress deeper so the new sheets will fit better.My mattress is only 8 years old and in great condition.But it's one of the thinner old style ones.Since I can't buy sheets to fit just the mattress alone, the 4 inch foam topper helps to get the new sheets to fit without all the excess material and having to use the straps to hold them in place.
I may edit this review after I've slept on it tonight.
I recycled the old Costco foam topper.I cut it down to fit the twin bed in the guest room and I'll throw out the excess leftover piece.That's about all it's good for.
The only complaint I have is that it did not come with a cover.I would have preferred to have a cover over it to protect it.Of course I'll put the mattress pad on it, but I would have liked the extra protection on it.

After sleeping on this for a few weeks, I found that putting two (2) mattress covers on it will help with night sweats.Since the foam has a tendency to hold in your body heat.This took care of the problem of the product not having a cover for it.The fiber fill in the two mattress covers makes it really comfortable now.Like sleeping on a cloud of fluffiness.

I have had this mattress pad/topper on by mattress for over a year now. I have it covered with a mattress cover, and this topper has added extended life to my wore out lumpy sagging 3500.00 bed of 9 years. The foam is very good quality if not excellent, and is extremely comfortable to sleep on. I looked at the major Manufacturer of the SPACE FOAM BEDS, and I believe that this is just as good in all aspects for way less money.

I have had 3 back surgeries and this has answered my prayers for me by not having to replace a 9 year old mattress right off the bat. The pad bounces back to its original shape within nano seconds of you getting out of the bed after over a years worth of use and it is still like a brand new one. I feel like my body (200 lbs.) was like down in a hole, I don't believe I would have encountered the sinking effect I have noticed but all along this may just be my wore out bed that had deep depressions where each person had slept for the past 9 years. I just imagine the topper can only perform as well as it can, and if the mattress underneath it is sagging it is only normal that the topper would sink into the mattress where it was depressed from nearly a decade of use.

After a year and then some, I finally purchased a new mattress. I downsized from a California King to a Queen sized bed. I bought a firmer mattress than my original pillow top bed that I had for 10 years and found it some what too firm after sleeping in it. I decided to use the above topper to give me some comfort so I laid the topper on top of the queen bed and marked out the dimensions with a ruler and a black magic marker to create a template in order to reduce the size of this topper. I got out my Kitchen electric knife that I use in the kitchen to carve up Hams and Turkeys at Holidays and went to sawing down the Foam to create a queen topper out of the California King topper. Everything worked out great, and I had a perfect fit within 5 minutes or so. I was amazed at how the Kitchen Knife sawed thru the foam, what a lucky break. Now I have support underneath me, and by putting the topper back on, I have regained a great level of comfort. This was the best purchase that I ever made for my bed. When the first mattress was wore slap out, i was strapped for cash but the topper added or extended the life of it for over a year to when I was able to replace the bed totally. Now I am greatly satisfied with the comfort and quality of sleep that I getting. I learned a lesson here, If you put this topper on a wore out mattress it will surely help, but it is best to put it on a good mattress from the start. Amazon was great in processing and getting all of my orders to me in a very timely manner and always at a great price without sales Tax. Thanks for everything, I am going to get a good nights sleep, so GOODNIGHT ALL, this topper is a definite KEEPER.....Some people claim that the foam has a bad odor to it. It arrived with a FUNKY smell, but it went away so fast that it was never even a issue with me, and I never even noticed it after I laid it out for a few hours for it too acclimate to my surrounding and temperature. I enjoyed it from the very first night, and am still enjoying it better now that I have replaced my wore out mattress. This topper came in a very small box, when I opened up the box, it was like a jack in the box jumping out into the room, and it was HUGE and very heavy as this is some really good quality DENSE FOAM, it was well worth, and is still worth every penny I paid for this and I wouldn't hesitate ordering another one if I had the need for it. Several months ago I bought an extra firm bed thinking it would help my back pain. But, my back problems only got worse. My back would start bothering me from the minute I laid down. When I got up in the morning I was so stiff that I could hardly walk for 30 minutes. I knew that I would have to spend another 1,000 plus for another bed. But, before spending that kind of money I thought I would try a memory foam pad.

I placed the 3 inch memory foam under my quilted mattress pad and went to bed for my first nights sleep. When I first lay down I was expecting my back to start hurting, but that did not happen. The next morning there was hardly any stiffness at all. Even my RLS (restless leg syndrome) was a little less bothersome. I have slept on the *new bed* for several nights now and I am really impressed. It did not get rid of all my problems, but it did ease them to where I sleep much better now.

I would recommend trying this memory foam pad if you have any problems that interfere with your sleep. I found the foam made my bed softer and more comfortable, yet also supported my back. The only thing is you have to get use to it. When you lay down you sink into the bed and the rest of the bed is up around you. When you turn over it is a little like rolling uphill. Also, the foam makes the bed slightly warmer. So, if you buy it give it several nights and you will probably find that getting comfortable with the feeling of this pad will take no time at all. And if it helps get a better and more restful night sleep, you will find it is well worth it. Plus, it might save you a whole lot of money for a new bed.
