The thing reeks! horribly for the first few days. I had to spend a whole bottle of fabreeze and have a fan blow on it for a few days before it finally aired out. Once the smell is gone though it is a extremely comfortable topper to have. I would definitely suggest getting this if you are not comfortable with you current mattress. I live in a dorm and the mattress they give us is crap and this topper just made sleep much better for me.
