I couldn't sleep directly on this.It's too firm.I used two, side by side under a queen air mattress to elevate the head area.

A bit pricey.All bedding accessories seems to be though.

It might help with acid reflux if you sleep on your back.Seems nothing helps if you sleep on your sides.

Prop-Up Pillow Memory Foam Bed Wedge Incline Wedge Pillow Review

I had very bad hoarseness from acid reflux.Prescription medicine wasn't helping.My doctor advised elevating the head of the bed with blocks but that was not practical.I showed my doctor a picture of the prop up pillow and he said it looked to be the correct dimension.Within a couple of days after receiving my pillow my hoarseness was gone!Yes, the pillow appears expensive but it is much less expensive than buying an adjustable bed.I don't use the neck roll - I prefer to use my own memory foam pillow.My doctor said the back roll is to help keep one from sliding down the pillow.I strongly recommend this pillow to anyone with GERD/acid reflux.

this pillow may work for reading or elevating the legs, but it's impossible for sleeping, much too hard!The description says it's made of memory foam, but that only seems true of the small white extension.The body of the pillow is rock hard, and thus it does not work for someone wanting elevation to prevent acid reflux. MedSlant pillow cover Review

Wedge Pillow for Acid Reflux with Allergen Barrier Cover Review

I bought this wedge after experiencing stomach acid problems that were not being resolved even with the highest strength medications (prescription). My doctor said that I needed to try to use a lesser type of medication, so I looked into other ways to reduce this problem. I tried this wedge and found that it worked surprisingly well. The dynamics are very simple - keeping your stomach lower than your esophagus during the night really helps! It took me about 3 nights before I started to get used to sleeping this way. Now, I can't sleep comfortably without it. When we go to a hotel, I get about 4 extra pillows to create this wedge. However, the wedge is the most effective way to do this. Although it's expensive (the reason I didn't put 5 stars), the value is that it works.

Wedge Pillow for Acid Reflux Review

I have severe reflux (GERD) and got the pillow several weeks ago to help myself sleep at night.

I was worried that it would be hard to sleep on, and seven inches tall seemed like a bit of a slant.But, it is made of a quite compressible hypoallergenic polyureathane foam that compresses down from seven inches to perhaps four when you are resting on it, and I had a good night's sleep, even the first night.The soft material is very comfortable, and my reflux is vastly improved.Having used it for several weeks, I don't expect to ever go back to a regular pillow.

Unfortunately, the pillow had a strong polyureathane chemical smell when it showed up.The smell was strong enough that it was unuseable.I brought it to bed briefly, but my wife insisted that I get it out of her bed, and I agreed.

The next day I washed the polyureathane foam in the bathtub with mild soap and water and wrung it out with my hands as best as I could.You can't machine dry polyureathane (it disintegrates), so I left it outside in the 85 degree California sun.After two days, I could still wring water out of it -- it wasn't getting dry.I then covered it with beach towels, and rolled it up tight using my knees.After repeating this three times with dry towels, it was noticeably lighter (less water trapped inside).I let it air dry for another day and called it done.

That did the trick, and now I use the pillow every night.

It is a very comfortable pillow and has solved my reflux issues.I am glad to have it, I just wish it was useable right out of the box.

Edit: MedSlant contacted me when they heard of the difficulties I had.They offered to send me a new pillow and expressed surprise -- they have had less than 10 complaints about odor in their 3 years of selling these pillows.I turned down the new pillow (mine smells fine now) and thanked them.Then they refunded my purchase (I never even asked!).They were very polite and I could not ask for a better customer support experience!
