Although I would not use this for sleep (and continue to look for a solution for that) when my back gets really into spasm, if I put my legs up on the leg lounger for about a hour or two it actually gives me traction enough to ease the spasm.It takes getting used to; seemed very high and big for me. Once I put it in the lowest position (also the position in which you can most easily adjust it) I found that I could raise my legs enough to get the traction I needed.
