Royal Velvet Gold 500-Thread Count Cotton Jacquard Medallion Siberian White Down Pillow Review

This pillow came beautifully packaged. I did have to air it for hours on the porch to get rid of the slight odor. I've always preferred a firm pillow and this filled the bill nicely. However, every time I moved my head the pillow *crunched*. First I thought it was the lovely pillow cover that came with it so I partially removed it to see if that was the culprit but the pillow crunched anyway which is very annoying. I promptly returned the pillow and went on an extensive pillow search in person. Even then I had some misses from Macy's where the pillow was smooth but filled with polyester. Finally I found the perfect pillow for me at Bed Bath & Beyond: another Royal Velvet Pillow with a 300 thread count cover (no separate pillow protector), no odor, very soft, filled with 75% goose down for $36.00. Bought two and have been extremely pleased. I probably should have ordered a softer type pillow with less fill from Amazon, but for me, it was better to try in person.
