Buckwheat Hull Pillow Review

I bought this pillow (9x15) to complete my baby's crib. Even though babies should sleep on their back and without a pillow, I wanted one just in case and because the crib looks nicer with it. But I definitely wanted an organic one, with no chemicals for my baby to breath in or be close to (I also bought an organic mattress... there are researches that show that fire retardant chemicals in crib mattresses along with extra pillows and bumpers could be related with SIDS.. I believe it's worth the extra money).
You have to consider that this pillow is filled up with seeds (or something like it) so it won't be fluffy as a down filled or synthetic filled up pillow. But "fluffiness" isn't good for babies! so that's fine for me. It has a very "organic" look and a soft nice "grassy" smell.

Rejuvenation Millet Pillow - Organic Millet & Wool for Side Sleepers Review

Finally, after years of buying the wrong pillow, I have found the right pillow for me. I just took my new Rejuvenation Milliet Pillow for side sleepers out of the box, and I can tell instantly that this will be the best pillow yet. I'm a side sleeper, and I usually have to sleep with several pillows every night. I wake up all during the night because the old pillows need to be fluffed or folded to be thick enough. That will not be an issue with the RMP. It is VERY firm, yet still soft on the wool side, and thick. There is no need to stack any other pillows with it. I can't wait for bedtime tonight to give it an all night test. It is also pretty heavy, so I won't be "chasing" it around in my sleep. There is a very, very light grassy smell associated with the millet, but it is not bad at all. I am extremely sensitive to smells, and it doesn't bother me.

The only thing I wish was different is I wish it came in king size so it would look right in my king sized pillow cases.

I would recommend this pillow to any side sleeper!

These pillows are lighter and a bit fluffier than the much more expensive buckwheat pillows, but when you put your head down on them they feel almost the same. However, they smell like pickled red beets. After a while and a lot of airing out, the smell is not that big of a problem, but if you have gotten used to the nice smell of your higher priced pillow, this is not for you. Be also aware of the supplier, Gift Warehouse of Products, who spent 9 weeks to deliver my order.After six weeks with no delivery my follow-up through Amazon eventually resulted in a call from Gift Warehouse, who said they had lost my order (but still taken my money) and blamed it on a storm at their offices. Then they said they would send me my product immediately - and yet it took 17 more days before I got the product.

Makura Buckwheat Hull Pillow Review

The product description claims that this pillow is 100% organic.However, the product box makes no mention that any part of it is organic.In fact since this product was made in China it was required to be fumigated before it entered the US market.The one I ordered reeked of chemicals.Definately NOT organic.

Also, the product description claims that the case is durable natural cotton lining.However it is actually a very thin polyester lining that does not appear durable at all.

I returned this pillow since it did not match the product description.

Organic Buckwheat Pillow - Twin/ Standard Size (20" x 26") Review

I first started using a buckwheat pillow about 10 years ago when I saw an "infomercial" about them on TV and then picked one up from the "As Seen On TV" section of my local Walgreens. The pillow I bought then was of poor quality but, even so, it made a world of difference in how well I slept. Some folks will try a buckwheat pillow and put their head on it and say "It's too hard" and then go back to their regular pillow. That's a mistake. Sure, a buckwheat pillow isn't soft (and a good sized one is pretty darned heavy), but that's what makes them work. A soft regular pillow can't provide the support that one of these does! What I usually do is make a dent in the pillow for my head and then wiggle my head around a bit to get it settled in. The buckwheat hulls move around and support my neck and head wonderfully. Now you may think that a firm regular pillow--or one of those "memory foam" pillows--would do the same and you're kind of right. The difference with those pillows is that, while they provide more support, they do not provide the air circulation that a buckwheat pillow does and, as a result, your head gets hot and uncomfortable. I don't quite understand how a buckwheat pillow promotes air circulation, but it does. The only warning about a buckwheat pillow is that once you get used to them, it's difficult to get a really good night's sleep on anything else. That's why I bought a smaller-sized one (the "Japanese size") for travel. Unfortunately, my 8 year old son has now decided it's going to be his, so I'll have to buy another one. The buckwheat pillows made by Beans72 are absolutely first-rate in every respect and the quick shipping means a better night's sleep is even more quickly at hand.
