I've aired it out for 3 days and p-u is it still smelly. It's kind of a chemical-y smell. It definitely needs a few more days of airing out, I'd say like a week with good air circulation. We slept on it last night thinking it had aired out enough because I went up to it and smelled it.But it's a totally different deal once you've got it all wrapped up in sheets and blankets and you're wrapped up in between the blankets and the mattress itself. It was kind of hard to fall asleep because of the fumes but we did after a while. If it weren't so much work to move the old boxspring and mattress back onto the platform, we would have but it was just too late at night, etc etc. The comfort part was good but, again, the fumes at times were a bit much to deal with. They get stronger underneath the sheets and blankets. So it's kind of too early to review the mattress fairly in terms of comfort because it really does need to air out for at least a few more days.We took all the blankets and sheets off of it this morning, left the windows open in the hopes that it'll be a little better tonight. I'll get back here in a week or 3 to update the progress.I recommend definitely waiting to air it out properly, before you get all excited and sleep on it. Those people that say that a week is exaggerating, that these mattresses really aren't that smelly, they're olfactory senses are probably not too sensitive anymore. Mine are really sensitive, but my wife's are more middle of the road, and she still had a hard time with the fumes so I'm not basing this just off of my reaction because I know my smell sense is above average sensitive. The week will be worth the wait if you buy this mattress, and that way you don't have to come back here to update your review at a later time.It would be nice if they could manufacture this with a less chemical-y process. It must be horrible in terms of being a green, sustainably manufactured product, though on this aspect I'm just guessing on the environmental awareness of its designers/manufacturers since I'm not looking at a list of its actual chemical composition, based on the strong smell and how long it takes for it to dissipate. I almost don't want to know what it does to you if you sleep on it before it's aired out properly.
